    give

Finances are a major part of the world we live in. There are newspapers and television channels specifically focused on it. Income is one of the first things we ask about at a new job. Economics is even a central cog in determining who we elect to public office. Money is a big deal in our culture! And it’s really nothing new. You might be surprised to know that Jesus actually had a lot to say about how we manage our money, and because of that it’s something we’re not afraid to talk about at Crossroads, if only because we’ve seen too many people weighed down by the trappings of debt and bad financial decision making. Perhaps that’s a feeling you know all too well.

The Bible teaches a simple money-map for how we should prioritize the resources God entrusts to us. Simply put, we ought to give first, save second, then live on the rest.

Crossroads is an easy place to give to because every week we see lives being changed as a direct result of faithful giving. It’s really rewarding! Every dollar that you give goes to creating the kind of church that even unchurched people of Berks County love to attend, the kind of church it’s easy to invite them to! And we rely on the tithes and offerings of attenders and members to enable us do everything in our community that we dream of doing. Imagine the kind of impact Crossroads members and attenders could make simply by giving consistently to the mission of Crossroads!

We are often asked why we don’t do fundraisers like bake sales or spaghetti dinners that some churches do. Frankly, we don’t believe that the church should be funded by selling things to unchurched people. Rather, we trust that people who believe in our vision will stand with us financially. Thank you for supporting our mission and our church.

    How eGive works:

By completing the eGive form you are instructing your bank to electronically transfer cash from your personal checking account to Crossroads Community Church, either on a one-time basis or on an interval basis. If you wish to discontinue giving, or if you wish to change the amount and frequency of your giving, you simply change your giving instructions at eGive.

    Is eGive safe?

Yes. eGive utilizes the Automated Clearing House (ACH) network, which is a nationwide electronic payments system used by more than 20,000 financial institutions, 4 million corporations, and 135 million consumers. The Automated Clearing House (ACH) processed a total of 10.017 billion automated clearing house payments valued at $27.4 trillion during 2003 according to NACHA – The Electronic Payments Association. As a result of this network, eGive guarantees an accurate electronic cash transfer from your account.

    stock

There are significant tax advantages in giving appreciated stock held for more than one year. The donor may take the full fair market value of the stock gift as a charitable deduction on his or her income taxes and neither the donor nor the church has to pay the long-term capital gains tax, which is 15% of the net appreciation of the stock.
